In partnership with SAOR Studio and their Women’s Health Nourish Program, we have developed our Women’s Health Bundles showcasing some of our menu items that fit into the specific phases of a menstrual cycle.
Supporting your cycle through nutrition is an amazing way to connect to your body on a deeper level and gain valuable insight about your health. When you become aware of the nutritional needs throughout your cycle, you start to notice changes in mood and energy levels, as well as a reduction in PMS. While there is so much to learn about hormone health and the connection between nutrition and optimal hormone function, we will briefly break down the 4 phases of the menstrual cycle and give you an overview of our Women’s Health Bundles that are available now.
Menstrual Phase Bundle (Day 1-7)
Day one of your cycle is marked by the first day of bleeding. It is important to rest and focus on warming, nourishing meals such as our Mineral Mushroom Broth and Coconut Dahl. The Menstrual Bundle will focus on restoring lost minerals while replenishing nutrient stores to support your body through this phase. Our Gluten Free Pasta Bolognese is our healthier take on a classic comfort meal that helps restore depleted iron levels with grass-fed beef and pasture raised pork. Follicular Phase Bundle (Day 7-14)
Around day 7 of your cycle is when you enter the follicular phase and energy levels begin to return. Supporting this phase with fresh, vibrant meals is an excellent way to support your body as it approaches ovulation. The Follicular Bundle focuses on providing lighter, nutrient-dense meals to support rising hormone levels and prevent imbalances by ensuring the proper detoxification of excess estrogen. Our Frittata Bites are an excellent fibre packed, high-protein meal, while the Hearty Bowl provides a combination of raw and cooked vegetables for optimal digestion during this phase. Ovulatory Phase Bundle (Day 14-17)
Around the middle of your cycle is ovulation, where you experience a peak in estrogen that provides a boost in energy and an increased desire to be social. To support feeling your best during ovulation and the subsequent phases that follow, The Ovulatory Bundle focuses on supporting the liver by incorporating more raw foods, such as the Fuel Good Smoothie and the Up Beet Salad. The Asparagus Soup is packed with minerals and vitamins that further support hormone detoxification, while our Granola Goodness becomes an excellent addition to a fresh yogurt bowl with berries during this phase.
Luteal Phase Bundle (Day 17-28)
Towards the end of the cycle, focusing on blood sugar management becomes incredibly important since fluctuating hormone levels can increase cravings and impact mood. The hormone progesterone is on the rise, which can slow down your digestion and reduce energy levels. In the Luteal Phase Bundle, our Greekish Bowl provides a well balanced meal with various whole-food carbohydrates and healthy fats to support blood sugar. We included our Oat Carrot Date Muffins in this bundle to further support blood sugar levels while also providing a delicious treat. We made sure to incorporate warm, grounding meals such as our Carrot Ginger Soup, and our Turkey Zucchini Burger Bites to support serotonin production as well.
